The Maw of the Dau

Fired clay, formal script. I am still unsure precisely how many hands were involved in the creation of this text, but it seems that the entire set is inscribed by at least three separate hands, though the voice seems to be from a single individual. Style of tablet is typical from the early Sonakiiran golden age.

The river runs out to the open sea in the south. The once powerful flow becomes unfocussed and loose, with small meandering creeks winding across the open plane. It is hot, humid, muddy, with the water becoming saltier the closer one approaches the sea. The ground is constantly shifting with incoming tides and waterlogged ground. It is a land impossible to traverse without the aid of the local marsh dwellers whose ruddy demeanour seems a mirror reflection of the land itself.
